Rightly or wrongly the NRL no punching edict will mean that some of
our stars will lose the ability to know how to properly throw a punch.
Case in point - Josh Dugan & Tyrone Roberts last weekend. Both
seemed to struggle to hit the side of a barn, let alone each other !
Today I want to take the time to reflect on some of the current players who we may be deprived of seeing land a punch in anger, as well as remembering some past greats.
Paul Gallen will be the man labelled by history as the catalyst for this rule change, but I will miss the fake right, left jab combination he set Nat Myles up with. No truth to the rumour you can see Nat Myles head from space either !
Everyone talks of Beau Scott as a man you don't want to muck around with in the fists department, so there's another that we may never see in an old school stink !
What of SBW ? He's also spent time in the ring & legend has it he once took on about 4 players all at once in his very early days at the Bulldogs in lower grades.
